The Senate yesterday confirmed Gregory G. Katsas to the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia by a 50 to 48 vote. Katsas comes to the bench from the Office of the White House Counsel. He is a 1989 graduate of Harvard Law School and clerked for Justice Clarence Thomas. Katsas was with the firm Jones Day in Washington, D.C. for more than 15 years, and also served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
