Restrepo confirmed to Third Circuit Court of Appeals

The Senate yesterday confirmed Hon. Luis Felipe Restrepo to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit by an 82 – 6 vote.  Judge Restrepo has served as a magistrate and then federal judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania since 2006.  Prior to taking the bench, he was a partner at Kreasnder & Restrepo in Philadelphia and served as an assistant federal defender in Philadelphia.  Lawyers interviewed for the Almanac of the Federal Judiciary called Restrepo a “very capable jurist” and described him as “respectful” and “well’respected.”
