Vijay C. Gandhi was sworn in as a federal magistrate judge in the Central District of California, making him only the second Indian-American federal judge ever appointed. After graduating from the Univ. of Southern California Law School in 1997, Gandhi clerked for U.S. District Judge Kenneth M. Hoyt of the Southern District of Texas. He was a partner with Paul, Hastings, Janofsky and Walker, specializing in business law and class actions. Gandhi sat on the Board of Directors of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
